Uche O. Asonye, Attorney Managing Partner

Uches PicUche O. Asonye started this firm in 1993 with a dedication to providing all clients with high quality service. Since that time, the firm has grown to become a premier firm in the area of immigration and employment law.
Mr. Asonye has been selected as a Leading American Attorney . To be selected as a Leading American Attorney, attorneys must receive multiple recommendations from their peers in a statewide survey conducted by American Research Corporation. Fewer than 8% of the state's attorneys are Leading American Attorneys. Mr. Asonye was selected as a Leading American Attorney in both of his practice areas: Employment and Immigration Law.

Mr. Asonye received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1992 from Loyola University of Chicago. He is admitted to Illinois state courts, U.S. District Court (Northern District of Illinois), U.S. Tax Court, and the Federal Trial Bar. Mr. Asonye became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1987. He received a Bachelor's degree with honor from DePaul University in 1985, majoring in Accountancy and Computer Science. Mr. Asonye graduated at the top of his high school class prior to attending DePaul University.

Renee C. Fell, Attorney

She has significant experience representing clients in a variety of matters, including whistleblower claims, discrimination claims under Title VII, Illinois Human Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family and Medical Leave Act retaliation suits, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, breach of contract, defamation, and related labor and employment torts. Renee has represented clients before Federal and Illinois state courts, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Employment Security and private arbitrators. Renee has been admitted to practice before the bar of the Supreme Court of Illinois, as well as in federal court at the Northern District of Illinois.

Pamela Rangel, Attorney

Pamela - AttorneyPamela is an attorney at Asonye & Associates. She joined our firm in 2017 and has significant experience representing clients in a variety of matters in labor & employment law, such as whistleblower claims, discrimination claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Illinois Human Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family and Medical Leave Act interference and retaliation suits, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, breach of contract, and related labor and employment torts.

Pamela also has significant experience in employment based immigration matters such as H-1Bs (including H-1B Extensions, Cap-Exempt H-1Bs, H-1B Change of Employer, Capped H-1Bs, Concurrent H-1Bs, and H-1B Amendments), J-1 Waivers, J-1 Waiver Extenuating Circumstances Transfers, PERM Labor Certification, I-140 Petitions for Alien Workers, I-140 Change of Employer portability petitions, Employer based I-485 Adjustment of Status petitions, National Interest Waivers, and Employment Authorization Document petitions. Pamela also has significant experience in family based immigration matters such as I-130 Petitions for Alien Relatives, K-1 visas, Consular Processing, I-485 Adjustment of Status petitions, and Advance Parole Document petitions.

Pamela represents clients before the Illinois state courts, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and private arbitrators. Pamela has been admitted to practice before the bar of the Supreme Court of Illinois.

Gail Asonye, CPA/Business Operations Manager

Gails PicGail received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University. Her Major was Accountancy, with a Minor in Computer Information Systems. Gail has several years of experience as a Manager and Consultant for such companies as Price Waterhouse, and Computer Language Research/Research Institute of America.

Gail joined our staff in December 2004. She is involved in all aspects of our law firm, including human resources, administration, billing, strategic planning, and practice development. Gail is the kind of person who always looks and finds a better way to do things. Gail is also our computer wizard, and has never encountered a problem she could not solve.

Sedenia Johnson, Office Manager

Sedenias PicSedenia Johnson is the Office Manager at Asonye & Associates. She has earned her Associates in Applied Science with her major as a Paralegal from Northwestern College in 2009. Sedenia is currently a member of Alpha Beta Gamma, a Business Honor Society.

She currently assists all staff members with various legal tasks and other administrative duties. Sedenia dedicates herself to the law firm of Asonye & Associates and continues to enhance her life activities and education.

Collin Cueny, Law Clerk

CollinCollin T. Cueny is a Law Clerk at Asonye & Associates. He is a third-year law student at the DePaul University College of Law. He currently assists all staff members at Asonye & Associates with employment-related cases, legal drafting and research, and administrative duties.

Collin has had a passion to be an attorney from a very young age. Prior to attending law school, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Pre-Law from Michigan State University in 2017. Collin is an avid supporter of Michigan State athletics and Detroit sports.

Carli Evans, Law Clerk

CarliCarli L. Evans is a Law Clerk at Asonye & Associates. She is a third-year law student at the DePaul University College of Law. During second year of law school, Carli served as a student-attorney in the DePaul Asylum and Immigration Clinic. Carli is currently the Secretary of the Society for Asylum and Immigration Law, and has previously served as First-Year Representative and Vice President. Carli is also a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the leading co-ed professional legal fraternity promoting integrity, professional competence, liberty and equal justice under law.

Prior to attending law school, Carli received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Alabama in 2017. While Carli was studying abroad in Santiago, Chile in spring of 2016, she discovered her passion for immigration law and legal advocacy. She currently assists all staff members at Asonye & Associates with immigration processes, legal drafting and research, and administrative duties.
Carli is fluent in both oral and written Spanish.
